CELPIP to IELTS: the same CLB in IELTS bands
Canada reads both tests on the CLB scale, so a CELPIP score and an IELTS General Training score can be compared through it. Pick a CLB level to see both.
A CELPIP level is the same number in all four skills. IELTS needs a different band in each skill for the same CLB.

Is a CELPIP level the same as a CLB level?
From level 3 to level 12, yes: CELPIP level 7 is CLB 7. That is why a CELPIP to CLB chart is one column of matching numbers.
What is the CELPIP passing score?
There is none. You get a level from 0 to 12 in each skill, and each immigration or citizenship program sets the level it asks for.
How is CELPIP scored?
Listening and Reading are counted: one point for each right answer out of 38, turned into a level. Writing and Speaking are rated on four criteria each, and those ratings give the level.
What does M mean on a CELPIP score?
M stands for minimal proficiency or not enough information to assess. It is the result below level 3.
How long is a CELPIP score valid?
For immigration, a language test result is accepted for two years from the test date.
